Anti-labour bill politically-motivated says NLC, TUC, others

Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress have rejected the proposed amendments to the Trade Union act by Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, saying the move is politically-motivated.

President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Mr. Abdulwahed Omar and his Trade Union Congress counterpart, Mr. Peter Esele, said during a joint press conference in Abuja on Wednesday that the proposed bill by the Bayelsa Senator was also “anti-people.”

The Congress for Progessive Change spokeman, Mr. Rotimi Fashakin, and the Campaign for Democracy President, Dr. Joel Okei-Odumakin, condemned the bill, saying it is not in the interest of the people.
