Nigeria
Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress have rejected the proposed
amendments to the Trade Union act by Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, saying
the move is politically-motivated.
President of the Nigeria Labour
Congress, Mr. Abdulwahed Omar and his Trade Union Congress counterpart,
Mr. Peter Esele, said during a joint press conference in Abuja on
Wednesday that the proposed bill by the Bayelsa Senator was also
“anti-people.”
The Congress for Progessive Change
spokeman, Mr. Rotimi Fashakin, and the Campaign for Democracy President,
Dr. Joel Okei-Odumakin, condemned the bill, saying it is not in the
interest of the people.
